How the State of Maine and its associates and the corruption in the legal system destroyed my family too, as it did in the Logan Marr case. By Carrie & Mack Stokes

We feel that, like the Logan Marr case and the Brown family case and other cases where rights were violated, and that we couldn't get justice in the legal system, that our story should be made public, because of the continuous gross violation of rights and no legal justice within the justice system.

My daughter, Krystina Nichols, was taken away from my husband (Mack) and I without any just cause. Judge O'Neil had my daughter, Krystina, removed from our home based on the testimonies of an admitted racist bigot, Guy Thivierge and the biassed statement of the GAL, Angela Crocker without justification of her statement. Judge O'Neil said he talked to Krystina and regardless of what she said, it was in her best interest to be removed from our home and placed in her father's care. Even though DHHS found no abuse and found nothing wrong with our home twice, Krystina was still removed from our home without just cause. I was unable to get an appeal because I was not afforded an attorney or a copy of my transcripts, even though I was declared by Judge O'Neil to be indigent in good faith. The transcripts will back up this true and accurate statement.

Following the GAL, Angela Crocker's testimony on the stand under oath, she requested to be removed from the case with no further involvement after the ruling of Judge O'Neil. It was also after the first appeal that Judge O'Neil tried to reenforce his decision by allowing Angela Crocker a secret or unannounced meeting and that meeting was with all the counselors and other witnesses who first agreed that Krystina would be better off with her mother, as long as she was getting counseling. I had given Judge O'Neil a letter from a counselor on her stationery stating that she would be able and willing to counsel Krystina. It was asked that the Judge put this into evidence. Judge O'Neil took the letter, but refused to mark the letter as an exhibit.

When Angela Crocker had her secret meeting, neither my husband or I were afforded the opportunity to be at the meeting or where it was and also to be able to arbitrate our side of the story in defense of what was taking place. Incidently, none of this was known to my husband or to myself until after Judge O'Neil accepted this as further evidence to support his removal of my daughter, Krystina months after the three day hearing was over and she was removed. Neither one of us was notified to have a fair hearing on later issues pertaining to tampering with the witnesses.

My daughter, Krystina went to several counselors, doctors, teachers and DHHS workers about her step-mother, Rachel Nichols abusing her by throwing her accross the room by her arm and other forms of abuse.

It was also reported to the Attorney General, Steven Rowe and to DHHS (Brenda Harvey, Commissioner) about the abuse and they did nothing about it. We then reported it to the Governor, John Baldacci, who also did nothing to protect my daughter.

We also contacted the NAACP, as we are a mixed couple. They stated that we were being discriminated against, but that they don't handle that type of discrimination. Some of the others that we have contacted are Jesse Jackson, Pine Tree Legal, the DOJ and others who have done nothing about it either.

I wonder how many other people's rights have been grossly violated by these people. We are also requesting a Federal and independent investigation into this matter. Possibly, there is a chance that there will be a form of retaliation for the truth coming out, as it has happened with others who brought the truth out that other people don't want to be known.
